About Her:
Alena Kryvanos, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Colorado. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Anthropology from Washington State University in 2017. She subsequently obtained her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Pacific University in 2018, followed by her Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from the same institution in 2022. Dr. Kryvanos completed her American Psychological Association (APA) accredited internship at the VA Western Colorado Health Care System in 2022 and continued her professional practice at the VA until 2024, when she transitioned into private practice. In her current role, Dr. Kryvanos provides a comprehensive range of cognitive and psychological services, including diagnosis and assessment, psychotherapy, and forensic evaluations. Her clinical areas of expertise encompass the treatment of depression and anxiety, substance use disorders, chronic mental illness, relationship issues, personality disorders, and diagnostic assessments. She is proficient in various cognitive assessments, including ADHD testing, memory testing, and IQ testing. Dr. Kryvanos has extensive experience facilitating both individual and group therapy for substance use disorders, as well as abuse and anger management. She adheres to third-wave psychotherapy approaches, offering a variety of mindfulness-based interventions, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Additionally, she employs cognitive-behavioral interventions, dialectical behavioral skills training, and trauma-focused treatments. Dr. Kryvanos also provides maintenance therapy for individuals in recovery.
